Research Interests

1) Design & synthesis of π-conjugated molecules

π-conjugated molecules, including small molecules and polymers, are of great importance in materials chemistry. Our group mainly focus on synthesis application of π-conjugated molecules, especially n-type (electron-deficient) organic semiconductors with low-lying LUMO energy levels.

2) NIR Organic nanoparticles for cancer therapy

Organic nanoparticles with NIR absorption for cancer imaging and therapy has attracted much attention in the past decades.

Our group focus on preparation of Organic nanoparticles with NIR absorption, especially with NIR-II (1100-1700 nm) absorption and study their bio-imaging properties and cancer therapy, such as photodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy.

Academic Achievements

Assoc. Prof. SHAO Jinjun focuses on exploring new π-conjugated materials for organic electronics (OPV, OFET) and bio-electronics (bio-imaging, cancer therapy). Till now, he has over 40 SCI papers published on ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Chem. Sci. and so on.
