Research Interests

Develop blue phosphorescent materials for lighting and display panels, research on organic synthesis methodology, organic optoelectronic materials and excitonic features for optoelectronic functionality. Specifically, chiral materials for circularly polarized light emitting materials, deuterated materials with isotopic effects for the photoelectronic properties and super organometallic molecules for blue phosphorescent light emission are major focused on.

Biographical Information

1999-2003: Bachelor degree; Soochow University.

2003-2009: PhD degree; Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

2009-2010: Senior researcher; Shanghai Medicilon Inc.

2010-2012: Adjunct Faculty in FDC (Flexible Display Center) of ASU (Arizona State University)

2012-2013: Senior Researcher; Guangdong Aglaia Technology Development Co., Ltd.

Academic Achievements

Prof. HANG Xiaochun is interested in developing blue phosphorescent materials for lighting and display panels. He carries on compressively research on applied synthesis methodology and mechanism for functional organic molelcules. Besides, He has made a breakthrough progress in four coordinated Platinum complexes with geometrically distorted excited state and their applications in light-emitting devices. His recent research, after ten years’ exploration, explains the inherit mechanism for narrow bandwidth emission of those organic Platinum complexes with the new discovered delocalized spin transition (DST) theory. As good understanding of the organic structures, researches on organic optoelectronic materials have been initiated with several brand new directions. Those researches are isotopes effect in opto-electronic materials, chiral materials and their applications, none-conventional phosphorescent materials for blue emitters, super-stable deep-red phosphorescent emitters, etc.
